Doll 2 baby
The first stage of reborning is choosing the kit. You have to have a good feel about the vinyl kit You choose, because a lot of heart and soul goes into your doll, before it becomes your reborn baby. Like any form of art, (and reborn dolls are just that), you need passion.
So, you have chosen your doll kit, and the paints you prefer to work with. I started with artist oils, then tried acrylics, and then Genesis heat set and L.D.C paint
I enjoyed working with all Four mediums, but I have kept Genisis as my main medium as it seams to be the favourite of customers.
There is great excitement when your kit arrives . Seeing the facial features and feeling the soft vinyl, The passion starts to build.
Then comes the bubble bath. All the vinyl parts (of which there are five, the head, arms and legs) get a warm soapy bath, to wash off any residue oils that may be lying on the surface. You need a grease free base for your paints to take.
Once the kit is dry you can start your painting.
